Man held without bond in NC missing persons case

DURHAM, N.C. (AP) — Two people police think are linked to the deaths of a woman and a 5-year-old boy face a series of upcoming court appearances after being arrested on multiple charges.

Twenty-seven-year-old Peter Lucas Moses Jr. is scheduled to make an initial court appearance Wednesday in Durham. Moses is being held without bond on charges including assault and kidnapping.

Vania Sisk was arrested with Moses on Tuesday. She faces charges of failing to appear at an earlier court date and misdemeanor possession of marijuana. She's being held on a $5,000 bond.

Court documents show investigators think Sisk and Moses were involved in the deaths of two members of a polygamist religious sect. No murder charges have been filed.

It couldn't be immediately determined Wednesday if either has a lawyer.
