Eugine Francis Plampin, 54, second-grade teacher in Denver School District, has been arrested on three counts of sexual exploitation of children for distributing illicit child pornography videos online.
The Denver Post reports that Plampin had been a teacher at Trevista ECE-8 at Horace Mann School in northwest Denver since 2008 and resigned last week with growing evidence and accusations against him.
According to 7News, the Northern Colorado Regional Forensic Lab Digital Media Section, in a joint effort with several local police agencies, examined Plampin’s use of peer-to-peer Internet networks generally used to share music, movies, software as well as porn. Plampin’s computer was flagged for having child pornography available to download via a peer-to-peer network.
Authorities then served Plampin with a search warrant to examine his home and computer which resulted in three counts of felony sexual exploitation of children, as the Denver Post reports.
Plampin turned himself in to the Loveland Police Department and was released after he posted a $50,000 bond.
This guy is simply creepy.... I know... my daughter was in his class. It scares me that DPS allowed, for lack of a better way of putting it, a child sexual predator to enter their classrooms and teach young children!! Thank goodness I was ALWAYS at that school and most importantly, in the classroom with my daughter!!!!
